THE MASSIVE!

We have had an insane last few weeks for postcards,
So much so that we are up to about 80 cards now and I am hoping that all of you who have postcards are following up and sending them out soon!!

And will have everyone up to Eva posted tonight.

Eva is an old friend of mine from girlguides and she sent her postcards back to me in a sealed envelope and so I am using it as an enticement... er... like a reward for posting everything else. I can't think of the word but I am sure that you understand what I mean. INCENTIVE!

Its my goal... and I am challenging myself just because I know that I need to post all of this!!!

Again from the set that I was sent from family friends! I think there are a few more and then I will upload newer stuff - I just won't until I finish my selling training but I can't get into it just yet.

This was the first of a bunch of cards that I received from a family that are friends with my family. They sent me postcards from across the US! Going to post them all up - the front's are public images from whoever made them so they won't have Alex's face on them. =)

Oh Happy Day~!

That can be taken two different ways and I have to tell you that I mean it in both ways: Good and Bad.

How about the good first, generally that's what people choose isn't it?
Good news is, if I didn't already mention it, that I sent out lots of new blank cards AND even better news is that I have received almost 15 of those back!! Which is huge numbers!! I mean... 15 in a few days is huge!!

Yup! People Rock When You Ask DESPERATELY!

As for the bad news - I suppose it isn't as bad as it seems but I feel compelled to share anyways

I went to the mailbox today, and surprise there was a bunch of letters for Mrs. Batke - in case you don't know the story of Batke I'll reiterate it quickly.

• When I first started this project I rented a mailbox for 6 months and quickly found out that the lady who had the mailbox before me did not forward any of her mail.
  
• Needless to say for the last two years I have written NATA (Not at this address) and RTS on every single piece of her mail that has come to me.
  
• Took some time but eventually I noticed that she is a real estate agent so I took a number off her sign and phoned her to give her a piece of my mind.
• Not really - I phoned her because her income tax started coming to me and I didn't want to responsible for that sort of thing. So I left her a message saying I have had her old mailbox for forever and yet I am still getting her mail but more importantly I was receiving her government cheques

So today I am at the mailbox picking up more postcards and I am so stoked - they weren't file din my mailbox yet so I was quiet happy when the one lady recognized me and told me that they had some more stuff for me. She quickly pulled it all out and asked the other lady to sort it all out at the till (I have to sign for somethings).

This second lady says "Hold on, I don't think these are yours" and she holds up my postcards and starts reading them. And I said "What do you mean? Don't you remember? This is why I got the mail box in the first place." This particular lady is the one who sold me my mailbox, and tends to also recognize me. She looks at me surprised and says "Really, thats odd because [Batke] received these too." Which surprised me so I said to her "That's impossible, this is my design - I sent these out - they never had her name on them." And she says "Weird."

This is the same lady who I asked if there was anyway Batke still had a key because I was missing so many postcards!! People were telling me that they had sent stuff and I hadn't seen anything come in! So I told her "Well I am missing about 100 postcards, so if she was still checking the mailbox after it became mine that would make since why I still haven't received those."

So here's what I figure happened:

a) This Batke Woman had a key still and was throwing out my postcards or writing NATA and RTS and putting them back. This is a problem because postcards generally don't have a senders address on them so basically they were getting chucked.

b) The lady who set me up with my mail box in the first place saw Batke take these cards, then repeatedly had to listen to me complain about receiving Batke's stuff, and so trying to be nice when she saw these cards come in she just threw them out thinking she was helping me.

EITHER WAY IT SUCKS!!! I STILL HAVE (hold on going to look it up) *88* EFFING CARDS MISSING!! Somewhere! Lost!!

Will post what I have after I make up for this work stuff that I missed because I was ill which is a long story - and I can't talk about most of it until everything is settled and/or my lawyer okays it.

This is obviously another card from the mystery Postcard-er but Being that I talked to her yesterday about sending me more cards I would say that I have figured it out. Of course it wasn't until I saw this that I was certain of who it was. AND that receipt postcard totally through me off.

Hope you are inspired to send me more cards!!
Because I need them =D !

Exciting News!

So I am not entirely sure if I already mentioned it but I started the publication process of this book and was contacted extremely quickly about processing!!

Of course I only have 70 postcards --> So I started calling people.

Needless to say I have people who are interested, people who are thinking about it, AND

PEOPLE WHO HAVE COMMITTED TO ALMOST 100 POSTCARDS!

This is exciting. By tonight 100 more postcards will leave my hands and enter the world to be decorated. I have so many awesome people and followers - you rock! All of you!

I am struggling with how else to promote this project though.. should I go to my high school and ask for support for my writing - maybe get the art department to offer extra credit for completing this project, maybe going and talking to high school students in my local area, attaching blank postcards to bulletin boards, giving some to the brownies, putting a call for submissions online, etc.

I have already promoted it on my facebook, blackberry, and across my Youtube accounts.

If you have any ideas - or you want a package of blank postcards - just ask! I will send them. They cannot be postage paid anymore but they will definitely arrive =)

has been made!

I shant transfer the blog for the time being. Although I am trying very hard to receive these postcards as soon as possible!! I am at thirty people, chapters is breathing down my neck to hurry up and finish, so I need at least seventy more postcards!!!

Send me postcards!! Do it right now!! I need them! I am desperate!! Send them!

I think I have more than thirty to be honest but since some asshole decided to mail all ten of his blank postcards back to me blank... they don't really count. Just saying... tell everyone! And if you send me a postcard I will draw three names to receive free signed copies!! I mean it! =D !

I am beginning to think

That i should do one of the following:

1. Push this into a Tumblr - as I can post on those more regularly thanks to the wonderful world of apps.
2. Cancel this all together.....
